Kids learn the truth about who God is and who they are because of him. Our goal is to partner with parents to lead the next generation to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Mark 10:14
Aledo UMC is committed to providing a fun, safe, and nurturing learning environment for children to experience the love of Jesus Christ. We believe Christian education is an important part of a child’s spiritual development. At Aledo UMC, we guide our children to make wise choices, trust God no matter what and treat others the way they want to be treated.
Sunday Morning Activities
Nursery and Preschool: 8:30 - 12:00 - 0-3yr olds
Your little ones are welcome to spend time in the care of our trained nursery staff while you attend church and Sunday school. We use a curriculum-based approach with even the youngest children, by singing songs to them, reading Bible stories to them and making sure they are told each and every week that God loves them. Children from two to four years enjoy music, crafts, and a Bible story.
All nursery rooms are located on the first floor of the Education building, which is the two-story red brick building connected to the backside of the church.
Children's Church
During the services children aged 4-11yrs are invited to attend Children's Church. Your children will begin the service with you, then around 15 minutes into the service we have Children's Time where your children are invited down to the front for a short lesson. Following this your children can either return to sit with you for the duration of the service or exit with our Children's Ministry Staff to the MAC Center where they will have a version of church suitable for them. You can collect your children promptly following the end of the service. Communion is served the first Sunday of each month and will be given to the children during Children's Church. If you're child needs gluten-free bread please make sure our staff are aware.
Sunday School: 10:00 a.m.
Our children's Sunday School lessons are designed to give them a solid foundation and build a strong faith in loving, knowing, and serving our God.
Kindergarten - 3rd Grade: Education Building 3rd Grade Classroom

Wednesday Nights
Wednesday nights are an evening of fun and friendship. As a church, we teach our children how to be involved in ministry work and Wednesday nights are one of the opportunities they have to be the 'Hands and Feet'. They participate in different ministry work so they can lead our world into a better future.
The first Wednesday of each month is Yoga.
The Third Wednesday of each month is Art with Abbie.
On occasions throughout the year we have "One Church Wednesday", this is an evening where we all, of any age, get together for an extra special night, this is usually a Potluck meal unless stated in the event announcement and calendar listing. In the past, we have had family picnics at the park, A year of birthday celebrations in one night, Thanksgiving meals, Give-Back evenings, and Trunk or Treat.

Special Buddies
Special Buddies Ministry is Aledo UMC's awareness, outreach and support ministry for persons with special needs and their families. Special Buddies extends the love and message of Jesus Christ to all persons with special needs and helps to integrate them into the life of the church. Volunteers are matched up with a “special buddy” to be an aide in the age-appropriate Sunday school classroom, which helps the teacher and gives the families an opportunity to worship. Eligible aides are 10th grade and older.
