Adult Sunday School

Aledo United Methodist Church offers adults a variety of Sunday School classes. All classes study issues of faith and search for ways to actively live out our faith in our daily lives.   The choices in which to participate are numerous and we hope you will find one where you can draw closer to Christ while studying and finding fellowship with others.

All Classes Meet at 10:00 a.m.

Atlas (Average age 20-30's)
Annex Building Room A

Atlas is a class of primarily young couples and singles who together deal with the difficult-to-navigate intricacies of modern-day faith and God's direction for their lives.

CIA - (Average age 50+)
Ed. Building Room 207

Christians In Action is a very flexible, versatile group of middle-aged adults that leans toward contemporary studies with lively discussions. The CIA is a friendly group that enjoys social activities. They are active workers in the church as well as in our community.

Damascus roadies
Damascus Roadies - (Average age 40+)
Ed. Building Room 203

The Damascus Roadies class is comprised of adults seeking direction from Christ in life's ongoing journey. The class explores God's presence in daily life including marriage, friendships, family, the church, our community, and the world.

This class welcomes adults of all ages, current members have children in elementary through high school. This class is very active in the church and mission work. They also have a very active social group where the get together as whole families.

Emmanuel - (Average age 50+)
Parlor/Room 5

The Emmanuel class is small and intimate which leads to good discussions. This class addresses the issues of the world today, how the issues can relate to us as Christians, as Methodists, and how the Bible can be a tool to guide us to “deal with our world today”. All ages are invited and welcomed to our class. Contemporary topics include studies by Adam Hamilton and other current pastors of our day. The Emmanuel Class believes Sunday School is an important tool in our faith journey, leading and directing us to be better followers of Christ.

FOCUS - (Average age 40-50+)
Ed. Building Room 205

FOCUS (Family-Oriented Christians United Spiritually) enjoy active lifestyles while seeking spiritual fellowship. The class is primarily middle-aged adults with high school or college-aged children. Come and join us!

The Foundations class is for those who desire to learn more about the scriptures and other subjects related to our foundations of faith. This class is open to all ages and family structures.

The Journey - (Various ages)

This class is a collection of adults with diverse political and theological viewpoints. Most weekends our lessons are built on scripture appropriate to the Christian year. Discussions facilitate taking the truths of scripture and making them applicable to the struggles in the world today.

TLC
TLC - (Retirement age)
Fellowship Hall

The Living Covenant class welcomes people of all ages, but most are of retirement age with a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to share. The subjects studied range from Bible study to dealing with modern-day issues. TLC’s are committed to recognizing the presence of Christ in their daily lives. The class also has socials and parties.

WOW - (Average age 60+)
Ed. Building Room 106

The Word Of Wisdom class delves into scripture using the Upper Room Disciplines, also known as the Lectionary, as our guide. Each week is a study unto itself and so a person can join in on any Sunday without having missed anything previously. The group is one of open discussion striving to build up each other's faith.
