Adult Sunday School

Aledo United Methodist Church offers adults a variety of Sunday School classes. All classes study issues of faith and search for ways to actively live out our faith in our daily lives.   The choices in which to participate are numerous and we hope you will find one where you can draw closer to Christ while studying and finding fellowship with others.

All Classes Meet at 10:00 a.m.

Damascus Roadies - Ed. Building Room 203
(Average age 40-55)

The Damascus Roadies class is comprised of adults seeking direction from Christ in life's ongoing journey. This class is very active socially. Most members of the class have children and out of class activities regularly include them. The class is active in church missions, local missions and world missions. The class explores God's presence in daily life including marriage, friendships, family, the church, our community, and the world. This class welcomes adults of all ages, but most have children in elementary through high school.

CIA (Christians In Action) - Ed. Building Room 207
(Average age 50+)

Christians In Action is a very flexible, versatile group of middle aged adults that leans toward contemporary studies with lively discussions. The CIA is a friendly group that enjoys social activities. They are active workers in the church as well as in our community.

FOCUS (Family-Oriented Christians United Spiritually) - Ed. Building Room 205
(Average age 40-55)

Focus describes themselves as, “Family-oriented Christians with active lifestyles seeking spiritual fellowship.” Come and join us! The class is primarily middle aged adults with high school or college aged children.

Foundations - Ed. Building Room 208
(Average age 50+)

The Foundations class is for those who desire to learn more about the scriptures and other subjects related to our foundations of faith. This class is open to all ages and family structures.

TLC (The Living Covenant) - Fellowship Hall
(Average age 60+)

The Living Covenant class welcomes people of all ages, but most are of retirement age with a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to share. The subjects studied range from Bible study to dealing with modern day issues. TLC’s are committed to recognizing the presence of Christ in their daily lives. The class also has socials and parties.

Emmanuel - Parlor
(Average age 50+)

The Emmanuel class is small and intimate which leads to good discussions. This class addresses the issues of the world today, how the issues can relate to us as Christians, as Methodists, and how the Bible can be a tool to guide us to “deal with our world today”. All ages are invited and welcomed to our class. Contemporary topics include: United Methodist Faith Links, studies by James Moore and other current pastors of our day. Video studies are sometimes used and also Advent and Lenten studies. The Emmanuel Class believes Sunday School is an important tool in our faith journey, leading and directing us to be better followers of Christ.

The Journey - Room 14 Main Building
(Various ages from 30's through 70's)

This class is comprised of adults of various ages seeking direction from Christ in life's ongoing journey.  The class explores God's presence in daily life including parenting, marriage, friendships, family, the church, our community, and the world.

Atlas - Annex Building 
(Average age 20-30's)

This class is primarily young couples and singles who are looking to navigate God's direction for their lives.
